2012 Orphanage Homes Visitation
Lagos State Lions Village Motherless Babies Home, Lekki · Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care Home, Surulere
In 2012, the KUTH Foundation turned its attention to Lagos's most vulnerable children — those growing up without parents, in the care of the state and charitable institutions. Volunteers loaded their vehicles with an extensive haul of supplies and drove to multiple orphanage homes across the city, arriving not just with goods but with presence, warmth, and time.
The centrepiece of the visitation was the Lagos State "Lions Village" Motherless Babies Home in Lekki Phase 1 — built and operated by the Lagos State Government in partnership with the International Association of Lions Clubs. KUTH's team arrived bearing stacked cartons of corn flakes, Nutrivin nutritional syrup, Boulos provisions, St. Louis sugar, Cussons Baby Soap, Monomin food supplements, bags of rice, yam tubers, vegetable oil, and more — enough to make a tangible difference in the daily lives of children and their caregivers.
The team also visited the Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care & Treatment Home in Surulere, distributing food items and supplies to widows and children connected to the facility — including a moment where a beneficiary received her items with visible, overwhelmed gratitude, hands raised in thanks.
The visits were not transactional. KUTH volunteers held the children, stood with caregivers, and lingered long after the supplies were handed over — making clear that the Foundation's presence was as meaningful as its provisions. It was a declaration, in action, of what "Keep Up The Hope" truly means.
"The visits were not transactional. KUTH volunteers held the children, stood with caregivers, and lingered — making clear that their presence was as meaningful as the provisions they brought."— KUTH Foundation, Orphanage Outreach Programme
